This document specifies the format and symbols for wordless product safety labels placed by manufacturers on their equipment and consumables used in arc welding and plasma arc cutting processes. This document addresses typical risks and mitigation measures caused by and required for arc welding and cutting in common work environments. Especially hazardous conditions and environments, such as confined spaces, working at height, or underwater, and risks not caused by arc welding and cutting are excluded from the scope of this document. This document does not replace workplace safety signs in accordance with ISO 7010 and does not address operator training. The wordless product safety labels specified in this document are not intended to replace other mandatory labels or signs (e.g. safety data sheets) required by certain countries or regions.
