This document provides guidance on organizational purpose and governance of purpose-driven organizations - organizations that seek to align their decision-making and actions with the long-term wellbeing of all people and the planet. This document provides guidance to governing bodies on consciously directing, overseeing and accounting for how they govern their organizations so that it is purpose-driven. It is also intended to be relevant to stakeholders who provide services and support to organizations, or who invest in them, support them and help hold them to account for their purpose-driven commitments. It covers the worldviews, practices and behaviours of purpose-driven organizations and those that govern and influence them. This document is applicable to organizations of all types and sizes. This document does not provide guidance on organizational transformation processes.
