ISO 21636 provides a framework for the identification and description of varieties of all individual human languages (cf. ISO 639), including sign languages but excluding artificial means of communication with or between machines (such as programming languages) and those means of human communication which are not fully nor largely equivalent to human language (such as sets of individual symbols or gestures that each carry isolated meanings but cannot be freely combined into complex expressions). This document, Part 1 of ISO 21636, provides the terminology necessary to identify basic dimensions and sub-dimensions of linguistic variation and the resulting varieties, including major modalities of human communication.

This document defines a set of models collectively referred to as the Biomedical Research Integrated Domain Group (BRIDG) model for use in supporting development of computer software, databases, metadata repositories, and data interchange standards. It supports technology solutions that enable semantic (meaning-based) interoperability within the biomedical/clinical research arena and between research and the healthcare arena. The clinical research semantics are represented as a set of visual diagrams which describe information relationships, definitions, explanations, and examples used in protocol-driven biomedical research. These diagrams are expressed using the iconography and grammar of the Unified Modelling Language (UML), the HL7 Reference Information Model (RIM), and a Web Ontology Language (OWL). This document establishes the links between protocol-driven research and its associated regulatory artefacts including the data, organization, resources, rules, and processes involved in the formal assessment of the utility, impact, or other pharmacological, physiological, or psychological effects of a drug, procedure, process, subject characteristic, or device on a human, animal, or other subject or substance along with all associated regulatory artefacts required for or derived from this effort, including data specifically associated with post-marketing adverse event reporting. This document updates the BRIDG model to version 5.3.1.

This document is directed specifically at the lower end of the concentration range covered in ISO 20847. By selecting the instrument type, a better signal-to-background ratio for sulfur K L2,3 emission is assured. A knowledge of the general composition of the sample for analysis is advantageous in obtaining the best test result. Compared to the previous version new fuels have been added to the scope. In addition, the precision and bias statements as well as the concentration range were updated based on results of a new interlaboratory study. This has been done for gasoline and diesel type fuels including new fuels HVO and GTL as well as for FAME type samples.

This document specifies the operational characteristics for the various categories of fire-resistant fluids defined by ISO 6743-4. This document details the factors to be considered when selecting a fluid from these categories for a proposed application. This document identifies difficulties which might arise from the use of such fluids and indicates how they may be minimized. Appropriate procedures are given for replacing one fluid with another from a different category. Health and safety aspects when handling and disposing of fire-resistant fluids are also covered. This document does not apply to fire-resistant fluids used in the hydraulic systems of commercial or military aircraft. The appropriate aviation standards are also usually applied where aircraft hydraulic fluids are filled into ground-based systems.

This document specifies the minimum requirements for lubricants for turbine oils, as delivered. It is intended to be used in conjunction with ISO 6743-5. This document specifies the requirements for a wide variety of lubricants for the lubrication of most types of turbines for power generation, including steam turbines, gas turbines, single shaft combined cycle turbines with common lubrication system and hydraulic turbines. Scope of the proposed deliverable
This document specifies a procedure for the determination of dynamic viscosity (?) and density (?) for the calculation of kinematic viscosity (?) of middle distillate fuels, fatty acid methyl ester fuels (FAME) and mixtures of these with middle distillate fuels, and lubricating oils including base oils, formulated oils, and synthetics, using a constant pressure viscometer. The range of kinematic viscosities covered in this test method is from 0,5 mm2/s to 2 000 mm2/s, with precision at 40 °C from 0,9 mm2/s to 1 300 mm2/s, and precision at 100 °C from 2.9 mm2/s to 161 mm2/s.
The result obtained using the procedure described in this document depends on the rheological behaviour of the sample. This document is predominantly applicable to liquids whose shear stress and shear rate are proportional (Newtonian flow behaviour). However, if the viscosity changes significantly with the shear rate, comparison with other measuring methods is only permissible at similar shear rates
